Critical Care Intensivist

The Division of Critical Care in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking 3 additional Pediatric Intensivists, including Intensivists with special training in cardiac intensive care. The positions will be at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications. Requirements include board certification or eligibility in pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. Successful candidates will have demonstrated interest and abilities in clinical care, education and academic activities.

These new faculty will join an existing group of 15 Intensivists in a 44-bed pediatric intensive care unit. This intensive care unit, located in Primary Children's Medical Center, admits over 2,000 children annually, including approximately 450 postoperative cardiac surgery patients. The division provides separate coverage of cardiac surgery patients from other PICU patients, within the same physical and nursing unit. There are active fellowship programs in pediatric critical care and pediatric cardiology. The division has a strong record of extramural funding and publication.

Academic Ph.D. Biostatistician

The Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah School of Medicine, is the Coordinating Center for two research networks, examining treatments for children in emergency room and intensive care settings, and is recruiting 3 additional Ph.D. Biostatisticians to support ongoing projects in these networks and the Department, and play a leadership role in the design of additional studies to be submitted for funding.

Assistant/Associate Professor rank/tenure or research track; academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications. Should have training in appropriate biostatistical methods for multicenter randomized trials and epidemiologic studies. Strong verbal and written communications skills are imperative. Additionally, Coordinating Center experience, expertise in a relevant area, i.e. statistical genetics, beneficial.
