Medical Director of Pediatric Clinic at the University of Utah Hospital

The Division of General Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine seeks a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor to serve as Medical Director of the Pediatric Clinic at the University Hospital. The Clinic is a major teaching site for the Department of Pediatrics with ~16,000 visits annually and includes outpatient rotations for students and residents, continuity clinic, and faculty practices. EpicCare EMR is coming in 2010. Candidates should have excellent clinical, communication, and leadership skills and interest in quality improvement, program development, and education or health services research. Clinical responsibilities will include teaching/practice in the Clinic, attending in the well baby nursery (includes intermediate care), and inpatient care of Clinic patients at Primary Children’s Medical Center. Minimum Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board certified in Pediatrics
  • Medical License in the State of Utah (prior to starting work)

Pediatric Special Care Program, Primary Children’s Medical Center

The Division of General Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an opening for an Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical or Tenure track) to join the clinical team serving children with complex, chronic conditions and disabilities, often with technology dependencies, in the Pediatric Special Care Program at Primary Children’s Medical Center. Key components of the position include clinical teaching and support of and/or participation in clinical and/or health services research. Additional clinical and academic responsibilities will be commensurate with training, expertise, and interest. Prefer full-time commitment, but will consider part-time above 0.7 FTE.

Minimum Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Successful completion of
    • Pediatric Residency and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatric Fellowship; or
    • Residencies in Pediatrics and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation; or
    • Neurodevelopmental Disabilities residency; or
    • Comparable training and experience
  • Board eligible or board certified in Pediatrics and other specialty listed above
  • Medical License in the State of Utah
  • Excellent procedural and clinical skills
