Pediatric Nephrologist

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to participation in the care of infants, children and adolescents with acute and chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and fluid and electrolyte abnormalities, including dialysis and transplantation. Share in the teaching of medical students and pediatric residents in the renal organ systems course (second year medical students), clinical conferences, hospital rounds and outpatient clinics. Perform clinical or translational research to include multimember trials as well as local research projects. There is opportunity for collaboration with current members of division (e.g. kidney development, mouse models of disease, drug trials), other divisions in pediatrics (e.g., diabetic nephropathy, critical care nephrology, pediatric pharmacology and HUS) and adult nephrology (e.g., mouse models of disease, Alport's Syndrome, transplantation and dialysis). With appropriate experience, there is the opportunity to assume the directorship of pediatric dialysis or transplant. Protected time, support staff, supplies and equipment provided.

Support Staff: nurse practitioner, office manager, office staff, certified coders, accountants, grant managers, dialysis nurses, dialysis manager, transplant coordinator.

Setting: Three person division of University of Utah School of Medicine, University Hospitals and Clinics, Primary Children's Medical Center.
