Interests
Dr. Dean directs the Intermountain Injury Control Research Center (IICRC). Funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Bureau (NHTSA), the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research, and state and private sources, the IICRC supports twelve full-time staff and several faculty members who have expertise in statistics, probabilistic linkage, injury control, trauma systems, EMBS data, community action, public information, and education. Recent research projects and publications have covered topics regarding school injuries, efficacy of seat belts, older driver crashes, teenage driver crashes, epidemiology of suicide, and EMS usage.
