The service is a division within the Department of Pediatrics and provides psychiatric and psychological consultation for medically ill pediatric patients.

Consultation services are provided in both inpatient and outpatient settings. PCMC attending physicians may request a behavioral health consultation for patients in the hospital. Consultations are documented in the patient record and communicated directly with the attending.

Outpatient services are focused on the medically ill patients who are in active treatment with a PCMC affiliated physician. The coordination of care with the attending physician is an important goal of the service. The services will provide assessment and treatment or appropriate discharge planning to longer term behavioral health services. Outpatient services are located primarily outside of the hospital at 657 East 500 South, Suite 300. This is a training service with both psychiatrists and psychologists and trainees.
