- Assures sample collection media is properly stored and available to environmental monitoring staff.
- Assures collected samples and specimens are properly labeled, packaged, and stored or shipped.
- Assists with data entry into the computer.
- Assures sample collection equipment is available to conduct monitoring.
- Prepares monitoring equipment for use.
- Assembles equipment as needed.
- Assists in calibration of equipment prior to and after use.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Health Science or a related field, or equivalency required; plus two years laboratory experience, preferably in environmental or occupational health compliance monitoring programs, and knowledge of differences in handling requirements for environmental monitoring media and equipment. Must have knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment; and ability to use computer programs. May be required to work non-traditional work hours.
