Telephone Interviewer/Scheduler
The Department of Pediatrics in is looking for several Telephone Interviewers/Schedulers for the National Children’s Study (NCS). The NCS is the largest and most detailed study in history to examine the health and development of children in the United States. The Telephone Interviewer/Scheduler works in the Study Call Center and conducts telephone interviews, schedules appointments, and receives telephone calls from field staff and study participants. The Telephone Interviewer/Scheduler will:
- Contact and conduct telephone interviews with study participants at specified time intervals to conduct screening interviews, update contact information and collect other study data by telephone.
- Enter study participant interview information in NCS Study Management System (SMS).
- Schedule and reschedule home and clinic appointments for study participants.
- Make calls to remind participants of upcoming appointments.
- Make reminder calls to collect self-administered questionnaires and specimens/samples.
- Enter and maintain study participant appointment scheduling information in NCS Study Management System (SMS).
- Receive and appropriately respond to calls from study participants, and potential study participants.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position requires one year of clerical experience or equivalency, strong computer skills, demonstrated cultural competency awareness, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
Prior experience in customer service, conducting telephone or in person interviewing in a research setting and ability to speak Spanish strongly preferred.
Hours: Must be available to work 11:00 – 8:00 most work weekdays, and 10:00 – 6:00 every other Saturday.
Will work closely with Study participants from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Must be culturally competent and able to adapt efforts to be sensitive and respectful of these differences.
