Welcome & Overview
Welcome to the Pediatric Research Enterprise. In 2007, the Department of Pediatrics launched a Grants and Research Support Office. Initially, the Office supported junior pediatric investigators, especially basic scientists in the Children's Health Research Center (CHRC) and the Pediatric Clinical and Trnslational (PCAT) Research Scholars programs. In July 2008 we began hiring new staff to offer expanded services to all pediatric investigators. The office is now called the Pediatric Research Excellence Partnership--the PREP Office. PREP staff are composed of faculty and staff from multiple divisions, and will be co-located in the William's building in October 2008.
Grants support services will include the following:
1. Help identify funding opportunities.
2. Assist in using University-sponsored search engines such as Community of Science (COS).
3. Assist in interpreting Funding Opportunity Announcements from agencies.
4. Assist in how and when to connect with the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP); the Technology Commercialization Office (TCO); and or the Technology Ventures Development Office.

6. Assist in developing a proposal development team.
7. Assist in identifying a primary mentor and developing a scientific mentoring team.
8. Assist in developing a project budget.
9. Assist in writing a budget justification.
10. Assist by reviewing/editing proposal drafts.
