Call & Vacation
The University of Utah is committed to comply with the duty hours requirements of the Pediatrics Residency Review Committee. Residents receive one full day (24 hours) out of the hospital every 7 days averaged over 30 days. Call on the various rotations is as follows: 
PICU: Every fourth to fifth night
NICU: Every fourth night
WBN: Every fourth to eighth night
Wards: Every fourth night or night float
Vacation
Residents have three weeks of vacation per year for the three years of their residency. For PL-1's, this consists of two weeks during the year and a third week between the PL-1 and PL-2 years. Our program integrates holiday breaks into the schedule so residents are guaranteed time off during the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays.
